ASSISTED LIVING
Many of these communities are styled like apartments, with 24-hour on-site security, and range from 20 to 200 residents. The provide assistance with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, ambulating, transferring, and personal hygiene, including an incontinence program. Many facilities also have restaurant-style dining, laundry and housekeeping services, activities, community events, medication programs, and transportation services. Several communities include an Alzheimer’s and Dementia program.
RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES
These are small homes with a family-oriented atmosphere for 6 to 12 residents, providing personal care and 24-hour observation to meet all individual needs. These include assistance or one-on-one with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, meals, ambulating, one-and two-person transfers, personal hygiene, incontinence monitoring, and a stat-of-the-art medication program. To enhance participation and their environment, family dining, laundry, housekeeping and daily activity programs are also provided. Many of these homes meet the needs of Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents. Hospice care is also provided, enabling residents to continue living in home-style atmosphere. Most of these homes offer rehabilitation programs provided by outside services and continued by homes’ staff.
IN-HOME CARE
This is for seniors who prefer to receive assistance in their own home, ranging from just a few hours a day to 24-hour live-in. Bonded and insured care providers will assist with all activities of daily living as state above including shopping and errand-running.
